How can MBSR help you?
Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week evidence-based programme that offers intensive mindfulness training to assist people with symptoms associated with stress, anxiety, depression, or pain. It was developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn. Over 40 years of scientific research suggests that participants experience real lasting changes in the way they relate to themseleves, others and life itself.
MBSR uses a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, mindful movement and exploration of patterns of behaviour, thinking, feeling, acting, communicating and relating with the purpose of reducing suffering or distress and increasing wellbeing.
This programme brings the principles of mindfulness meditation into everyday life which helps break cycles of stress, anxiety, unhappiness, and exhaustion.
This immersive, eight-week course includes 27 hours of personal mindfulness training - bringing you intensive and lasting value which can impact all areas of your life – from your relationships to your work, self-identity, and wellbeing.
It involves practising mindfulness meditation each day and applying it to our
everyday lives.

What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is our natural ability to be fully present.
It can be described as a form of awareness based on "being" i.e "non-doing”. It is a practise of being in the present moment and of getting to know our own minds and bodies.
This practice allows us to notice our patterns of thinking and create space for insight
With mindfulness we can learn to respond to our experiences with a sense of clarity and choice rather than reacting out of habitual patterns.
Practising mindfulness allows us to become aware of the life we are creating for ourselves, and to look at the bigger picture and observe whether this is in line with our values.

“Having a practice is a good way to make sure you are living your life, your own life, the one that aligns with your deepest values, rather than the one that happens, when we are blown by the winds without our hand on the tiller”
